Sandkuhl Fire Brick

Sandkuhl Fireplace Fire Brick is an economy priced Fire Brick suited especially for residential fireplace construction and any fire brick application that has a 1/16” or greater mortar joint. This brick conforms to ASTM C-27 and C-1261. For relining stoves and other appliances that require high dimensional precision use Alsey Medium Duty Fire Brick instead of Sandkuhl Fire Brick.

Medium Duty Grade Fire Brick

Medium Duty Fire Brick is recommended for all fireplace, stove and all other residential wood burning applications. This high quality brick is dry pressed and made from Missouri fire clay. It is highly regarded for dimensional uniformity, sharp edges and corners, a uniform light buff color, and refractory qualities. Recommended maximum service temperature for medium duty fire brick is 2700°F (1480°C). Medium duty brick conforms to conforms to ASTM Specifications C-27 - Class 4.1.4 and 4.1.5 for Medium Duty and Low Duty respectively and C-1261-98 (which includes C-24 and C-67), as well as, C-16, C-20, C-24, C-38, C-113, C-133. Straights (9”x4½”x2½”) and Splits (9”x4½”x1¼”) are stocked. Other sizes may be special ordered. -Product Sheet-

Low Duty Grade Fire Brick

Low duty fire brick is suitable for residential fireplace and wood burning applications. This brick has a recommended maximum service temperature of 2000°F (1095°C). Low Duty fire brick meets ASTM C27 (Low Duty) and C1261 specifications. Straights (9”x4½”x2½”), splits (9”x4½”x1¼”) and large splits (9”x4½”x2”) are stocked. Red Fire Brick

Red Fire Brick stocked and available for fireplace applications. This brick has a maximum service temperature of 1750°F (950°C). Red Fire Brick meets ASTM C1261. Please note, red brick should not be used in high heat applications. -Product Sheet-
